Born Vince Furnier, the son of a preacher man, as Alice Cooper he went on to shock audiences with his ghoulish, theatrical performances. Along the way, Alice released a clutch of classic singles (School’s Out, No More Mr Nice Guy, Poison), carved out a film career (Wayne’s World) and played golf with Groucho Marx.
