TOOTS HIBBERT with SLY & ROBBIE
Come And Get It
(Anthology III, 1996)
As a founder member of Jamaica’s Maytals, Frederick ‘Toots’ Hibbert found himself second only to Bob Marley as reggae’s best-known performer. Toots & the Maytals appeared in the cult film The Harder They Come, and were at the forefront of the UK’s 2-Tone scene during the early 1980s. Toots’ song Pressure Drop was a long-time favourite of The Clash. Sly & Robbie were the rhythm section of choice for Grace Jones, Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, Ian Dury, Sting… and worked with McCartney on a remix of his Nod Your Head from 2007’s Memory Almost Full.
